Whispering Pines Bible College

Whispering Pines Bible College is owned and operated by the Seventh Day Adventist Reform Movement, Northwest U.S. Field Conference. As a Christian institution, it is rooted in the principles found in the Bible and in the writings of Ellen G. White. Therefore, it is far more than an academic pursuit leading to a degree; it is a total commitment to Christ-centered principles, and to living those principles in every phase of campus life.

The college is located in a beautiful rural setting of about 500 acres of land at 250 feet elevation, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains about 30 miles southeast of Sacramento. Historic Amador County was the scene of much mining during California's gold rush.

Since the opening of its doors for the first time in September 1998, the college has already trained and placed some students in the missionary field.

Our

To provide an educational environment that instills a love of God, fosters symmetrical growth in the Christian experience, and provides a foundation for lifelong achievement.

"To restore in man the image of his Maker, to bring him back to the perfection in which he was created, to promote the development of body, mind, and soul, that the divine purpose in his creation might be realizedthis was to be the work of redemption. This is the object of education, the great object of life." _ Education, p. 15-16.

To educate means more than simply to teach academics, it means to work to instill in students values wich will lead them to build characters according to the image of our Maker. This is the secret of true happiness.

Our

"We have a work to do. Educate, educate, educate young men to give themselves to the ministry of the word...

Christ calls for young men who will volunteer to carry the truth to the world. Men of spiritual stamina are wanted, men who are able to find work close at hand, because they are looking for it. The church needs new men to give energy to the ranks, men for the times, able to cope with its errors, men who will inspire with fresh zeal the flagging efforts of the few laborers, men whose hearts are warm with Christian love, and whose hands are eager to go about their Master's work." _ Colporteur Ministry, p.19.

Are you thinking that you are too young or too old to attend

Whispering Pines Bible College?

If so, let me share something with you

When Ms. Joan Sangbok Lee submitted her application form enrolling herself as a student at Whispering Pines Bible College, we the staff and the educational board were both surprised and delighted - surprised that someone being 90 years old was still encouraged to attend school, and delighted to know about her determination to serve the Lord in a more efficient way, despite her advanced age. She was, and still is, a source of inspiration for students and teachers alike. During two consecutive years she faithfully attended the classes, and finally concluded her training in July 2000.

Sister Lee was born in December 17, 1908, in Pusan, South Korea. From her early years she decided to dedicate her life to the Lord's service. For fourteen years, she served her Korean countrymen as a Catholic nun (1933 _ 1947). She was also an active Adventist during the years 1961 to 1977.

As she was baptized by Brother A. Sas in 1978, in a cold day of [winter] January, she also became part of the Reform Movement history, as the first member in South Korea.

Thanks to her efforts and investment, we have the work started in China.

Precious star in the crown of the Master!

GOD'S

"Christ desires to use the youth in His service. He needs missionaries. The barren fields all over the world call to heaven for laborers. If the youth will give themselves to God, He will give them wisdom and knowledge, preparing them for service. If they will consecrate themselves to Him, He will make them vessels unto honor, into which He can pour the precious oil of the Spirit, to be imparted to others. God's helping handthis is what you may be if you will yield yourselves to His keeping. To everyone who offers himself to the Lord for service, withholding nothing, is given power for the attainment of measureless results. For these God will do great things

To young men and young women, as well as to those who are older, God will give power from above. With converted minds, converted hands, converted feet, and converted tongues, their lips touched with a living coal from the divine altar, they will go forth into the Master's service, moving steadily onward and upward, carrying the work forward to completion." _ The Faith I Live By, p.247.
